Leadership & Staff

Our Leadership

As an Anglican diocese we have an Anglican structure of leadership. If you’re new to the Anglican way, a Province is lead by a Primate(Archbishop) and is made up of Dioceses which are each lead by a Diocesan Bishop. Often a Diocese is then segmented into smaller regions which are cared for by an Archdeacon. We also have a diocesan council comprised of lay and clergy members, and a small diocesan staff. You can learn more about our leaders and staff below.

SUFFRAGAN(ASSISTING) BISHOPS

We are blessed with many bishops in our diocese. Our active bishops comprise our House of Bishops and give episcopal leadership to the diocese. Our full body of bishops, including those retired, make up our Episcopal Fellowship.

DIOCESAN COUNCIL

Our Diocesan Council is comprised of clergy and lay members elected by our annual Synod, along with our diocesan bishop who chairs the council.
They are from congregations across the diocese and meet multiple times virtually and in person to assist in the governing of our diocese.
(We are currently receiving nominations for council members. You can learn more here.)

ARCHDEACONS

Our Archdeacons are rectors of churches who also provide assistance and oversight to other congregations within their region.

OTHER LEADERSHIP POSITIONS

STAFF

Our Diocesan Staff assist our bishops and congregations. They are based at our diocesan office in Burlington, Ontario.
