The Reverend Chad W. Graham, JD, DMin

The office of Diocesan Chancellor is a historic Anglican office serving as the chief legal officer of the diocese. The Chancellor is the Bishop's principal adviser on canon law relating to ecclesiastical governance and diocesan legal structures, with responsibilities in the diocesan courts and tribunals.

Before entering legal practice, Chad spent ten years in full-time pastoral ministry, first as a church planter and then as a senior pastor and the church-planting and revitalization catalyst for the Prairie District of the Evangelical Free Church of Canada. That decade of front-line ministry continues to shape his work today. Since 2018, he has served as a non-stipendiary associate priest at Christ the King in Edmonton, exercising active ordained ministry alongside his legal vocation.

Chad is the founder and principal lawyer of Chad Graham Law, a solicitor's practice serving businesses, families, and charities, with particular strength in governance and advisory work for not-for-profits and registered charities. He holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Alberta Faculty of Law, where he received the Gary J. Bigg Award for Advocacy, along with a Doctor of Ministry (DMin), a Master of Sacred Theology (STM), and a Master of Arts (MA). He studied canon law under Phil Ashey and has served extensively as a Provincial Prosecutor and Canonical Advisor to the ecclesiastical courts and clergy of the Anglican Church in North America (ACNA). Outside his practice and diocesan duties, he writes on law, economics, and ethics at his Substack, Chad W Graham. He and his wife, Karmyn, are the parents of three children.
