Tyler Chamberlain

Having grown up in a Christian home attending a Christian and Missionary Alliance church in Abbotsford, BC, Tyler first started attending an Anglican youth group in late high school. He was eventually drawn to the liturgical aspects of Christian life and worship to which he had no previous exposure, particularly to the weekly recitation of the ancient creeds, the lectionary, and the importance placed on seasons of the Christian calendar (especially Lent and Advent). Tyler has spent time in Ottawa, ON attending St. Peter and Paul’s (2009-2014) and now lives in Abbotsford, BC where he attends Saint Matthew’s with his wife, Raechel, and 3 daughters, Cadence, Sophia, and Ava.

He has a Ph.D in Political Science and currently teaches Liberal Arts at Trinity Western University. During graduate school he worked in the Canadian House of Commons, and from 2021 to 2024 worked in the Provost’s office at Trinity Western University as the Program Review Coordinator, which included serving as the primary liaison with BC’s Ministry of Postsecondary Education and Future Skills.

His ministry experience and parish involvement includes time on Parish council at Saint Peter and Paul’s and Saint Matthew’s, youth ministry at Saint Matthew’s, volunteering in the Saint Matthew’s nursery, and teaching adult education courses at both parishes. Tyler is passionate about encouraging all believers to think carefully and responsibility about the meaning of our faith and how to follow Jesus in a challenging world. He looks forward to the possibility of serving the diocese in any way he is able.
