Dear synod delegates, observers and guests,
Thank you for registering for Synod 2023 in Vancouver. We are so pleased you are attending. We are looking forward to a significant and enriching time together.
If you are a delegate from your congregation to Synod thank you for serving in this way. We are so grateful for this important role you have agreed to play both in representing your congregation in our Synod gathering and then reporting from Synod to your congregation afterwards. We would highly encourage you to explore our website and familiarize yourself with diocesan priorities, values, news, leadership and ministries before you arrive at Synod, so you are as prepared for participating as possible.

Synod 2023 Details
Dates: November 15-17, 2023 (Clergy day on the 14th)
Location: Church of the Good Shepherd, 189 West 11th Avenue, Vancouver, BC, V5Y1S8
When You Arrive
Parking
The church parking lot is reserved for staff and volunteers. If you are driving to synod, please note these nearest parkades:
Easy Park (130 West Broadway, 4 mins walk)
Indigo Lot (2520 Ontario St, 7 mins walk)
Indigo Lot (500 West 12th Avenue, 9 mins walk)

Sign In
When you arrive at synod please find our Registration Sign-in table on the lower level. There you can sign in and receive your name badge and, if you are a voting delegate, your voting card.
Clergy please sign-in as you arrive on Clergy Day to avoid the lines on Wednesday.
Documents
We will be including documents important for synod delegates here as they become available. Please check back for updates as we get closer to Synod 2023 so you have the most up-to-date documents.
If you want prints of any of these documents at Synod 2023 please print them and bring them with you.

Nominations for ANiC Council
There are council positions up for election at this year’s synod. ANiC Council has received and approved a list of nominees submitted by the Nominating Committee. You can learn more about these nominees here:
Submit a Resolution
If you are a delegate to Synod you may submit a resolution to be moved at synod. If possible we ask that you submit any resolution well beforehand so it can be reviewed and prepared for presentation during the synod gathering. You can submit a resolution here:
Accommodations
Accommodations are the responsibility of synod attendees. You are free to stay wherever is convenient for you, whether with friends or family, contacts at local parishes, or at a hotel.
Hotel Group Rate
We have a group rate for a limited number of rooms at the Holiday Inn on Broadway. If you are a Synod attendee you are welcome to book a room there while supplies last. There are many other accommodation options in the area but these rooms are at a reduced rate.

The hotel is a 10-15 minute walk from our synod host church.

Airport
There are many transportation options available to and from Vancouver International Airport (YVR) including public transport, taxis, Uber and Lyft. You can learn more about these options on the airport’s website here:
Hotel to Church
If you are staying at the Holiday Inn on Broadway it is an estimated 15 minute walk to Church of the Good Shepherd at 189 West 11th Avenue, Vancouver, BC, V5Y1S8. The walk is a normal city walk on sidewalks with a short uphill section as you make your way from Broadway up to West 11th Ave. Here is a map:
