Diocesan Council Nominations
How to apply for nomination to our Diocesan Council for election at Synod
Dear members of our diocese,
As you may be aware, our Diocesan Council is the Board of Governors for our diocese and is comprised of 5 clergy and 5 lay members from across our diocese, in addition to our diocesan bishop. The work of the Council is crucial to the effective and stewardly management of our Diocese’s resources and to the achievement of our mission of “building Biblically faithful, Gospel sharing, Anglican churches.”
Seeking Candidates
At each Synod there is an election for members of Council; this year there are 6 open positions - 3 for clergy and 3 for lay members. The hope is that the Council has a balanced representation of parishes from across the diocese, and that the Council members bring a broad spectrum of knowledge, skills, and abilities needed for the work.
The Nominating Committee will review all applications and will recommend to Council those who would provide a balanced representation of all our parishes and can provide Council with the current knowledge and skill needs required to best govern our Diocese. These nominees will then stand for election at Synod 2026.
Your Assistance
Please share this information and the application form below with your clergy and parishioners. The deadline for applying for one of these positions is August 15, 2026.
Thank you for your assistance in this matter and for your continued prayers for the work of the Anglican Diocese of Canada.
