Dear members of our diocese,

As you may be aware, our Diocesan Council is the governing body for our diocese between Synods and is comprised of 5 clergy and 5 lay members, in addition to our diocesan bishop. The intent is that the Council has a balanced representation of parishes from across the diocese, and that the Council members bring a broad spectrum of knowledge, skills, and abilities needed for the work. At each Synod there is an election for members of Council; this year there are 4 open positions - 2 for clergy and 2 for lay members. We are seeking your assistance in sharing this information with your congregations so that your parishioners are aware of the work of the Council and how they might become involved. We also are requesting your help in identifying individuals who you believe would be valuable members of Council. 

Please share this information and the application form with your clergy and parishioners. The deadline for applying for one of these positions is August 15, 2025. The Nominating Committee will review all applications and will be recommending to Council those who would provide a balanced representation of all our parishes and can provide Council with the current knowledge and skill needs required to best govern our diocese. These nominees will then stand for election at Synod in the fall.
